NSA prez says welcome! CPA student news #1Explore member benefitsWelcome from CPA President
Welcome to, and welcome back to all PT students. Isn’t September the most exciting time of year? New classes, making new friends or seeing old ones, and most importantly being in PT School! I want to encourage all of you to become part of the profession by joining the CPA as a student member. Being part of a professional degree program is not like any other degree. You are becoming physiotherapists and with that comes professional pride and responsibility. The only way we have a voice is through our professional association. Membership is your professional “insurance” so you have a say as to how the profession progresses and grows. In addition to membership being free while you are student, you will have access to all the latest information from our Divisions so you will know what is current in every area of practice. You will receive our flagship publication Physiotherapy Canada, which focuses on the latest research in physiotherapy. We have enlarged our student bursary program to allow students to attend our national conference. And if all of that isn’t enough to entice you, when you finish PT school you will get your first year of membership for half price – just for having been a student member of CPA! As President of the CPA I want to assure you that we value your opinion and that students have a strong voice within the association, so please join and become part of the best profession in Canada!
